Junk removal in Draper, Utah

Draper fills the southeast corner of the valley, from the Jordan River up to Corner Canyon and the Traverse Ridge. Most of the housing went up in the last thirty years, so it's finished basements, big garages, and decks that get rebuilt. The old core is still there along Fort Street, and SunCrest sits up on the mountain.

Draper is one of the eight Trans-Jordan member cities. The city sends residents to the Trans-Jordan Landfill in South Jordan or the Sandy transfer station for bulk items, with every load tarped. Residents can also rent a city dumpster up to three times a year; it takes furniture, building materials, and household items, but caps mattresses at three, bans refrigerators and freezers, and if concrete, dirt, or rock goes in, it can only be filled a third full.

How Draper's Dumpster Rental program works

• The program is for residential use, and neighborhood associations, HOAs and volunteer groups in Draper may also use it.
• Availability varies through the year, and there may be a wait for an open time slot.
• Request a dumpster by completing and returning the Dumpster Rental Agreement on the page.
• A resident can rent one dumpster up to three times per calendar year.
• HOAs and other Draper groups get Monday delivery only and no more than four dumpsters at a time.
• One size is offered: a 30-yard dumpster.
• The 30-yard dumpster is 22 feet long, 6 feet high and 8 feet wide, with a 10 ton weight limit.
• Specific delivery times are not available.
• Allowed: yard debris such as tree limbs, shrubbery and grass clippings, building materials, household items, some appliances, and furniture, with a limit of three mattresses.
• Not allowed: toxic, hazardous or flammable materials such as pesticides, herbicides, solvents, chemicals, paints, motor oil and gasoline.
• Also not allowed: asbestos, dead animals, liquid loads, firearms or explosives, tires, batteries, freezers and refrigerators, and metal or plastic drums unless the tops are cut off.
• If concrete, dirt or rock goes in, the dumpster can only be filled one-third full.
• Overweight dumpsters are partly emptied at pickup until they meet the transport weight limit.
• Do not fill above the rim, and residents must clean up any spillage.
