Junk removal in Midvale, Utah

Midvale is where Jeremy's truck lives, so a Midvale job is the easiest one to fit on his calendar. The city sits in the middle of the Salt Lake Valley where I-15, I-215, and State Street cross, which is a good place to run a junk truck out of: nowhere in the county is far.

The housing is a mix. Historic Main Street and the blocks around it are older homes with detached garages and deep basements that have been collecting for decades, while Bingham Junction and the newer subdivisions west of the river are townhomes and apartments with move-out cleanouts and packaging piles. Fort Union has the big lots and the yard projects. Jeremy hauls out of all three.

How Midvale's Curbside Bulky Waste Program works

• Open to Midvale residents who get their garbage service through Midvale City.
• HOA residents do not qualify, because HOAs do not contract with the city for trash service.
• If your regular trash day is Friday, you are not on city trash service and cannot use the program.
• It runs twice a year, in the spring (April) and the fall (October).
• Your pickup date follows your regular trash day. Fall 2026: Monday trash day is picked up Monday, October 19; Tuesday is Wednesday, October 21; Wednesday is Monday, October 26; Thursday is Wednesday, October 28.
• Spring 2026 pickups ran April 6, 8, 13 and 15, by trash day.
• Set items at the curb by 6:30 a.m. on your pickup date and no more than one week before.
• Items must not block sidewalks, gutters, storm drain inlets, water meters or traffic.
• Crews can refuse anything that does not meet the guidelines, and it stays at the curb.
• No grass clippings. They go bagged in the regular garbage can.
• Extra yard waste can be boxed, bundled or bagged; boxes 30 gallons or smaller.
• Branches up to 4 inches across, tied in bundles under 18 inches thick.
• Bundles no longer than 4 feet and under 75 pounds each. Loose piles of yard waste are not collected.
• Appliances without Freon are taken (refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, water coolers). Appliances with the Freon removed by a licensed professional and tagged are also taken.
• Furniture, carpet, padding, sofas, mattresses and water heaters are taken. Carpet and pad must be cut into 4-foot rolls.
• TVs and computer monitors are not taken.
• Everyday household garbage is not taken; it goes in the regular can.
• No business or contractor waste of any kind.
• Not taken: car parts, dirt, rocks, sod, bricks, broken concrete, major construction or demolition debris, household hazardous waste, 55-gallon drums.
